Claimed and verified account

Our first step involves researching if your business already has a Google My Business account. In most instances, Google is already aware of your business from the Secretary of State, Internet yellow pages, data aggregation brokers, or public utilities. In fact, Google may have already created a business listing on your behalf.

Creating a duplicate account can actually harm your business. Our team of SEO experts use several tools to thoroughly search for these accounts. It's surprising how many we find. Even a slight variation of your name, address or phone number can generate a duplicate.

Once we have found your account, we proceed to "claim" it. This step in the process allows to communicate to Google that we would like to take ownership of the profile. Next, Google requires us to verify ownership of the account either through a phone call to your business or a post card delivered to your official business address.

This step may take two to three weeks to complete. We may have to repeat this process since postcards are often not delivered. In some instances, we may be able to perform a quick phone verification instead.

It's imperative that your profile is accurate, consistent and informative. Most pre-existing Google My Business accounts contain incomplete or inaccurate information. Our SEO experts will:
